The rivalries we love

Good morning. We love a good sports rivalry.

There is something special about a match-up between rivals. The crowd's energy is vibrant; the communities radiate pride; and the teams show up ready.

Almost every team (and sometimes individual players) has a rival, but some rivalries are more well known than others. The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. The Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. No matter the team or the region, people love to boast about whose team is the best.

Rivalries build communities and give people something/someone to rally behind. A central purpose, if you will. (And who doesn't love some bragging rights?!)

We want to hear from you! Jump over to the CG Sports Co Instagram to let us know your favorite sports rivalries!

Enjoy your Wednesday and your rivalries!

Athletes: Find what works for you. Focus on in like crazy.

One of the cool things about 2022 is that there are more ways than ever for athletes to grow their platform. Investing in and growing your platform is the single best way to attract business opportunities.

Remember: sponsorship deals are just one way for athletes to make money. In today’s market, sponsorship deals are often dominated by those with large social media followings. While this is not always the case, it’s important to understand the market you are playing in.

  1. Write a regular blog.

  2. Embrace the age of the newsletter.

  3. Get a buddy to help you with social media content.

Find what works for you. Focus more of your energy on that space. Don’t give up after the first few tries, these things take time. You will be surprised at the results and stress it takes off of you. Good luck, you can do it!
