On the road again ๐Ÿš˜

Good morning. It's time for our next road trip.
With the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in the rearview mirror, it is now time to turn our attention to our next destination: Beijing 2022.

It may seem early, but the Beijing Winter Games are only 141 days away. NBC recently held their media summit for the Winter Olympics in Irvine, California and CG Sports client, Rosie Brennan, was a part of the gifted group of athletes in attendance. The timing of NBC's Media Summit was perfect, honestly, because NBC is now able to channel the momentum and excitement from Tokyo 2020 to Beijing 2022.

And if you're a sports fanatic like we are, draw an extra star on February 13, 2022 when the stars will align to feature both the Winter Olympics AND Super Bowl LVI.

Let the journey begin.

Other big news this week:

  • After a weather delay, Elizabeth Beisel's Block Cancer swim has been rescheduled for September 22-24.

  • James Green has qualified for the U.S. World Championship wrestling team.

James Green rebounded from a disappointing Olympic Trials to qualify for the U.S. World Championship wrestling team. The World Championships will take place in Oslo, Norway October 2-10.

Haylie McCleney collected the second largest amount of points during week two of the Athletes Unlimited Softball, earning her captain duties for week three of competition.

CEJIH EXPLAINS

How to tell your story on social media.
Social media can be a powerful platform to showcase different aspects of your lifestyle, sport, personal hobbies and fun events in your life. All of these things combine to give your audience a perception of you as a brand.

When athletes begin to narrow their focus of what they are posting/sharing with an audience, this is where we begin to see an actual brand form.

The Key: The key here is to decide what your main themes are and then start making posts related to those specific themes. Does this mean you can never make an off-brand post or just mix it up when you feel like it? Of course now.

Here are a few examples of athletes/people who have narrowed down their main brand themes and make a post around one of these themes every few days.

  • Victoria Garrick, Founder of The Hidden Opponent, Former D1 volleyball player

  • Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks Point Guard

  • Sara Blakeley, CEO & Founder of SPANX

DEMAND YOUR BRAND

Find your unique selling proposition

unnamed.gif

Okay, so you like to thrift and repurpose clothing. Or *insert hobby here.* Awesome! But so does your neighbor, cousin, mom, coach, and your 3 best friends. But you REALLY like to thrift. Itโ€™s your passion, you want to share it, and you actually think youโ€™re quite good at it and sharing how to do it effectively.

If you want to build on it and stand out - Start by identifying what makes YOUR ability to find the right items, at the right price, clean them up and advertise them successful.

How is your process unique and who will it best serve?

How did you begin thrifting and why is it important to you?

This adds up to your unique selling proposition (USP). It keeps you above your competition and if shared well through a series of stories told in a variety of ways - serious, humorous, video posts, still graphics, written articles...it can blow your competition out of the water.

Find your USP, go back to the earliest time or more impactful event that got you to where you are now. Tell that story.

CG Sports Swim Clinics

CG Sports is excited to announce the relaunch of our Pro Swim Clinic Program! We are beginning to book our Olympic, national team, and elite level swimmers for fall and winter swim clinics with clubs. Some of our swimmers are coming off of a great Olympic Trials meet and are excited to get back to doing clinics.

Our clinics are 100% private to your swim club and are designed to give teams the opportunity to have a very close engagement with a pro. Teams pay a flat fee and our team handles all of the logistics for you. We try to remain flexible and work within your clubโ€™s goals and budget to make the clinic as successful as possible!

If you think this is something your membership would be interested in, the next step would be to reach out to Matt Amerlan at matt@cgsportsmanagement.com for more information.

We hope to work with your club soon!
