Introductions are in order π
Good morning. It's been a while since we introduced ourselves.
For those who are new here, welcome to the CG Sports Co. newsletter! Our weekly newsletter has three straightforward goals:
To brag about the great things our athletes are doing,
To share our knowledge of the sports industry with you, and
To celebrate all that the sports industry offers.
Seems simple, right? We think so. All it takes is a series of Slack messages, casual review of email threads, your basic social media browsing, and, of course, listening to the soothing sounds of Sarah McLachlan. (Just to name a few of the processes the CG Sports team uses.)
Regardless of the writing process, I can confidently speak for all of us at CG Sports when I say, thank you for sharing your Wednesday mornings with us.
Other big news this week:
Learn how education outlasts your product with "Demand Your Brand"
Read part 1 of the "How to Use Your Agent" series
Address your financial health with "Financial Fitness," sponsored by Nav.it
Tune in to the @cgsportsco on Thursday (10/21) for an Instagram takeover by our newest athlete!
P.S. Nervous about missing upcoming news from CG Sports? Follow us on Instagram (@cgsportsco), Facebook (CG Sports Management), and, of course, our weekly newsletter.

DEMAND YOUR BRAND
Education Outlasts Your Product
In a world of materialism and overconsumption, companies create products made to reel you in, but break down over time and bring you back to purchase more out of necessity or addiction. This goes for food (hello Trader Joe's dark chocolate peanut butter cups - my personal weakness), children's toys, kitchen supplies, you name it...
Why not pivot to provide a one-stop shop that will allow more time for growth, long term improvement, and most of all, self awareness for your customers? Sounds great! But how can you do that?
Client education. Share a tid bit on how the product was created, or some alternatives that can sustain customers once your product is finished, a process is finished, or a goal is achieved. This builds brand loyalty. What can customers do next? For our brand camp, this process may look like sharing a one-pager on some behind the scenes work to designing a logo, building a webpage, or writing a blog post. This increases the likelihood of customers returning to engage with our product, and overall, increases the value of our product. For you, it is unique to the service and brand you want to provide. Passionate about your non-profit? Invite people to come to your next event, then share how you planned the event, or a how-to on fundraising goal setting.
What else can you think of? We'd love to hear from you!

What To Do with a Financial Windfall by Kaitlyn Ranze
You did it! Whether you landed a major freelancing gig, got a bonus at work, or the government is doling out more stimulus checks, youβre going to make this money work for you.
Here is the seventh and final smart way to manage the money from your financial windfall:
7) Most importantly, live your values.
It's been a long year. You've had time to consider what is important in your life. Whether it's building wealth, giving to others, or something more personal, spending money is an expression of your values.
Now's the perfect time to get really expressive and intentional, making the windfall work for you.
Have you dreamed of being the new Doris Duke with your own charitable fund? Then give some or all of your check away! (And take advantage of the tax breaks for charitable donations.) Start locally and search for a way to make an impact in your community. Your gift may be something tangible that you can feel up close.
Have you made a list of home improvement or remodeling goals while cooped up at home? Or have you dreamed of destinations and travel? You can turn your financial windfall into the foundation of your personal travel fund or home remodel budget.
Wealth isn't just about the amount in your bank account. It's personal and experiential. Even if you have a little debt or a too-small emergency fund, take a moment to do one fun thing with your stimulus check. The most important part is that you made this financial windfall work for you.
