Always bet on yourself

Good morning. Every opportunity is a chance to win.

Rich Strike shocked the world over the weekend with his victory in the 148th Kentucky Derby. Racing at 80-1 odds, Rich Strike was a last-minute addition to the race after another horse scratched. But that's all he needed. A chance.

Rich Strike was not expected to win this race, but he seized his opportunity and turned that chance into a victory. Because that is all we can do: take our opportunities and relentlessly pursue our hopes, dreams, and goals.

If you haven't seen the race video yet, watch it. You will not be disappointed. I hope you find inspiration in Rich Strike's determination and channel that into your next opportunity.

And, most importantly, don't forget to bet on yourself.

Personal Life Philosophy

Surprise! Everyone has a personal brand. If you’re struggling to put yours into words, start by defining your personal life philosophy.

Step 1 - How do you define success? Ask yourself, what legacy do I want to leave? This takes some time and thought. Spend 10 minutes this week to get started. (Heads up, it’s a never-ending project).

Step 2 - Pick out some cornerstones that create the foundation you build your life on. These might be key phrases and words that motivate you every day, or concepts that guide your actions and reactions. Whether it’s a quote your grandfather repeatedly shared, or a note from a parent on one of your elementary school lunches, it may have had a lasting impact on your life, and thus, become a cornerstone by which you make decisions.

One more important question: Are these supporting pillars of your brand reflected in your actions, words, interviews, and even social media posts? How do you use them to work towards leaving a legacy? Don’t leave people guessing.

Easy IG Story Tip for Your Sponsors

Hello athletes! Here is an easy IG story tip for you to give your sponsors some extra love.

Whenever you do a brand collab with a sponsor (or advertiser) they are going to ask you for engagement numbers. Here is an easy way to make sure you get extra high engagement in your collab post.

If a sponsor asks you to make 3-4 IG story posts, here’s what you do.

Tip: Make the first IG story a poll that relates to the brand campaign.

Why? When you use an IG story engagement tool, your numbers go way up due to the algorithm.

This will give you better numbers, more insights and more click throughs to share with your brand collab partner.

Give this a try on your next post for a sponsor. Then, share the numbers you get with that sponsor. They will love the proactiveness and that you are thinking of their brand for them.
