The power of Olympic Trials
Good morning.
The Olympic Trials for swimming are live and in action in Indianapolis. I don’t know about you, but the CG Sports team has looked like this for the last week:
To say that we are emotionally invested in Olympic Trials is an understatement. At our core, we love supporting our clients and we know how emotional and impactful the Olympic Trials are.
Every athlete has a story to share and 3x Olympian and CG Sports client, Elizabeth Beisel, is on deck for interviews, laughs, and amazing swimming commentary.
We are excited to celebrate and share that four CG Sports clients have qualified for pool events in Paris so far: Katie Grimes, Lilly King, Kieran Smith, and Paige Madden. Katie even took her Olympian title one step further, becoming the first female athlete to qualify in both pool and open water events at the same Olympic Games!
There are still 5 more days of swimming and we can’t wait to watch all of the amazing swims! Still to come: Dare Rose and Jack Dahlgren are prepping to throw down some monster swims in several events, and Grimes, King, Smith, & Madden will look to add more events to their Paris schedule.

Katie Grimes
Katie threw down an impressive 4:35.00 to finish first in the women’s 400 IM and earn her spot on Team USA for the pool events. This is in addition to her 10K open water event!
And she’s not done yet!

Lilly King
Lilly has qualified for her third straight Olympic Games, surging to a powerful finish in the women’s 100 breaststroke (1st, 1:05.43).
Lilly will return to the pool (and an excited Indy home crowd) in the women’s 200 breaststroke.
Kieran Smith
Kieran delivered one of the biggest nail-biting swims of the opening day of Olympic Trials, powering to a dynamic second place finish in the men’s 400 free (3:45.76). Just two days later, Kieran added the men’s 800 free relay to his Paris schedule with a qualifying swim in the men’s 200 free (1:45.61).

Paige Madden
Paige opened the 2024 Olympic Trials with a demanding swim in the women’s 400 free (2nd, 4:02.08), and then followed up with a qualifying swim in the 200 free(1:56.36) earning her a spot on the women’s 800 free relay.
