CG Sports: Q2 Recap Edition
Good morning from Cejih.
Welcome back from the long weekend. Hopefully you had a fun one with family and capped it off by forgetting yesterday was trash day.
Q2 for CG Sports was a doozy! We saw new multi year deals through 2024 begin to close for our athletes. This means that Paris 2024 is starting to make its way to the agenda list for sponsors. Work with your clients to make sure their marketing material is up to date with new photos, social stats, examples of work and outlook for 2024. Start getting this info out to potential sponsors. You'll be glad you started early.
The CG Sports team saw a handful of firsts over the past quarter. Our paid branding service for athletes, known as "Brand Camp", welcomed customers from new markets. Retired NFL veteran Asante Cleveland teamed up with CG Sports to build his brand. Asante is a highly creative individual who has some really exciting projects in the works. We are honored to help build a brand around him.
This quarter we announced a new partnership with the Dominican University Women's Basketball team. CG Sports will be creating the branding and marketing assets for the DUC coaching staff as well as empowering their student athletes with access to our Athlete Content Portal. In addition to DUC, we are working with coaches from NC State and Rhode Island, all for brand asset creation. Standing out in the market is becoming more important and word is getting out that CG Sports has the tools (and the team) to get clients there.
Like any business, we saw things slow down at times over the past 90 days. Energy and resource allocation is an important part of our strategy as a team. When things began to cool off in May, we used this time to revamp all of our marketing material and give it some sporty spice. As business picked up in June we were armed with gorgeous and modern marketing assets to promote our clients and properties. This means good things for Q3.
Looking ahead, July is a big "hay in the barn" month for us and many others. Much of the business that will close in September is found during July and August. Use this week to strategize, map out your activities and then get ready to crush July.
Thank you for sticking with us to the halfway point of 2022! We are excited to share the great things we have coming the rest of this year.

Coors Light Championship Marketing Strategy
Coors Light is taking full advantage of the NHL Championships, selling limited edition "Championship Ice" beer using ice from the final game at Denver's Ball Arena. They scraped ice directly from the rink, melted, filtered, and shared it in cans and taps across Denver just days after the win, and in time for one of the city's largest celebrations in the last ten years. This isn't the first time they've done this, having celebrated Tampa Bay Lightning's win previously.
If it works, it works! Talk about a branding win.

Champion's Mojo, Episode #162: "Order in the Court! Judge Turned Swimmer's Rules for Life: Bob Beach"
Today we have an amazing interview with a man whose life reads like a best selling novel. Our enchanting guest served as a Judge for over 50 years, the longest running judgeship in Florida history, presiding over mostly criminal cases. He was instrumental in starting US Masters Swimming, and he is credited with overcoming much of the early resistance to Masters swimming within the swimming community. He has a swim meet named after him that has been running for 51 consecutive years, the longest in US Masters history! We are talking about none other than swimmer and internationally loved, 91 years young, Robert (Bob) Beach.
During his high impact leadership career, Bob became an accomplished swimmer having earned multiple US Masters All-American honors, set national and world record holder in Masters swimming. And he’s been selected as a USMS long distance all star over 10 times! In 1974, Bob was the "first judge" to swim from Alcatraz Island across San Francisco Bay, completing the swim in 33 minutes. He also attempted to swim the English Channel on his 50th birthday, but had unfavorable currents causing him to stop. Bob has visited 140 countries, currently drives a red Porsche convertible and has some interesting rules that he lives by. We can’t wait for you to hear this interview!
