Introducing: Demand the brand
Good morning. Less than 100 days until the Paralympic Games.
It's hard to believe, but we are only 97 days away from the Paralympic Games and 65 days from the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Despite the heartbreak following the postponement of the Paralympic and Olympic Games, athletes around the globe persisted. They created new opportunities to train and support one another in an ever-changing landscape.
Slowly but surely, their persistence is paying off. Each week, more and more athletes are earning their ticket to Tokyo and the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be here before we know it.
Other big news this week:
McKenzie Coan shares her favorite workout with Refinery29.

Explaining Exclusivity Clauses in Athlete Endorsement Contracts
Athlete endorsement contracts have the potential to get very lengthy and complex. They can contain up to 15-20 pages of various clauses and legal language. One of the most important clauses in these agreements that every athlete should be aware of are exclusivity clauses.
In the world of sports endorsements, exclusivity clauses legally restrict athletes from promoting or using similar products from another brand. The idea is that a brand does not want to pay an athlete money and then see them wearing a competing brand’s shoes. Put simply, this is the clause that prohibits James Harden (Adidas athlete) from wearing Nike basketball shoes on the court, in public, or on social media.
Catch up on types of exclusivity, conflicting sponsors, and how to avoid issues online!

DEMAND YOUR BRAND
Welcome to the first of a series of branding tips and tricks to add to your assortment of how-tos and don’t do’s. Let’s start with a concept I like to call demanding your brand. In other words, self-promote. Be so reflective of your ideals, reppin’ your own “stuff”, and confident in what you’ve created that there is no question of your association with your beliefs and who you are.
We’ll start easy. Have a logo? Add it to your photos before you post. If you aren’t sure how to, or worried you don’t have the tools to do it, Canva is about to be your best friend (It’s free and easy to navigate). Mandy Marquardt is a perfect example of this. By creating merchandise with her logo, she is opening the conversation about who she is and what her logo represents.

Long Term Investments by Maia Monell
While short-term investing is all about quick preservation of cash, long-term investing is all about growing your wealth over time.
Here are some options:
1) Stocks - "Paper" investments, meaning you don't have to manage a properly or a business.
They represent ownership in profit-generating organizations. When you invest in stocks, you're investing in the global economy.
Stocks can rise significantly over the long-term.
Many pay you with dividends to provide you with a healthy stream of income.
Most are VERY liquid, enabling you to buy and sell them easily.
It's easy to spread your investment portfolio across dozens of different companies and industries.
You can invest across borders.
The average annual return based on the S&P 500 is 10%/year.
