Word of the Day: Grit.
Good morning. Our word of the day is “grit.”
Our very own Dagmara Wozniak has officially qualified for her fourth Olympic team in saber fencing.
Daga has been a part of the CG Sports family since 2018. When she signed, she was injured and not feeling 100% confident about making the Tokyo 2020 team. A disappointing 2019 soon followed.
But Daga didn't let that stop her. Despite 2020 opening with more injury, she made the decision to fight while injured and, unfortunately, in extreme pain.
Grit. Resilience. Determination. In March 2020, Daga had an incredible performance and put herself into position to qualify for Tokyo. But it was never officially confirmed. Then she had to wait an entire year, only for them to tell her she now had to compete one more time to secure her spot.
Now in 2021: Grit. Resilience. Determination. Success.

Why Branding Matters
We talk a lot about branding and how important it is for athletes to invest in their brand development early in their careers. The brand becomes the foundation for an athlete to build a successful business upon. Below are three methods every athlete should be considering.
1. Mission driven, athlete founded companies
2. Direct fan engagement
3. Athlete merchandise - because who doesn't love a good t-shirt of their favorite athlete?

Long Term Investments by Maia Monell
Good Financial Cents breaks Long Term Investing down pretty well by explaining: “Long-term investing means accepting a certain amount of risk in the pursuit of higher rewards. This generally means equity-type investments, like stocks and real estate.”
While short-term investing is all about quick preservation of cash (think, creating savings goals for that glorious beach vacay you’re planning), long-term investing is all about growing your wealth over time.
