Women in Sports Go Beyond the Game

Let's talk about one of my favorite subjects - women's sports!

Over the weekend Sarah Fuller made history becoming the first woman to play in a power 5 conference football game. To say she won the internet over the past 72 hours would be very accurate. How accurate? Let me refer you to my favorite My Cousin Vinny meme.

The market is growing and growing fast. Women's sports is a market exploding with opportunities for players, sponsors, agencies and fans right now. And it will only keep getting bigger as we look to 2021. I'm calling it right now, 2021 is going to be the year for women's sports. Boom.

With sponsors looking to capitalize on their limited sponsorship dollars, team sports will provide a great opportunity to capture the most value. Showing that your company values teamwork alongside supporting female athletes is a one-two marketing punch worth investing in.

Media attention on women's sports is also at an all time high. In my opinion, the coverage of female athletes stories on and off the field is better than in men's sports. The storytelling aspect to female athletes provides a way to connect with fans and audiences that we just don't get to see from their male counterparts. Fans are just as intrigued about Sarah Fuller's playing skills as they are about her backstory, where she grew up, how did she get into football and what did she have to go through to earn that historic spot. This will only continue to develop over the next year.

Sarah Fuller's accomplishments represent the exciting opportunities to come for women across the whole sports industry. And I honestly cannot wait :)
