Our staff AND our athletes have been crushing this Olympic and Paralympic season (to put it lightly). Our athletes have been showcasing their talents and sharing their stories at competitions across the globe, inspiring more athletes each day to develop their stories in an effort to promote their own brand. This means that our staff has been hard at work meeting with potential new clients, organizing speaking opportunities for current clients, sharing client successes, and much more!

There are multiple big announcements and events on the CG Sports horizon and we cannot wait to share them with you all! Buckle up, folks, 2021 is not over yet!

Other big news this week:

  • Jonny Bornstein has officially launched his logo and website, complete with merch!

  • Colleen Young claimed the silver in the women's S13 200 IM!

  • Maggie Steffens and Ashleigh Johnson joined The Rush to discuss the rigors of water polo, breaking barriers, making Olympic history, and more!

P.S. Add us to your contact list so, we don't get lost in your inbox!

Making women's sports more accessible

unnamed.gif

Of people who watch sports, 84% are interested in watching women's sports. Here's the catch...they don't know where to watch. After watching a "Bet on Women" webinar put on by Front Office Sports, we wanted to share with you some media channels we heard about and follow that may help you stay connected. You can watch more than the big name sports, recognize female athletes and their stories, and be the first to know when and where you can support:

  • Monumental Sports Network (owned by the W) streams women's sports that aren't exclusively nationally televised!

  • OnHerTurf

  • Togethxr

  • Shotclock Media

  • Just Women's Sports

If this encourages you to do one thing, it is to invest in women's sports. 84% is a staggering number that we are proud to be a part of, but let's make sure accessibility is there. If you are a female athlete, people want to know your story. Let's make it known!

What To Do with a Financial Windfall by Kaitlyn Ranze

You did it! Whether you landed a major freelancing gig, got a bonus at work, or the government is doling out more stimulus checks, you’re going to make this money work for you.

Why you may have missed this opportunity with last financial windfalls:

Mental accounting is the tendency we sometimes have to treat money differently depending on where it came from or what we intend to do with it.

It’s probably the reason lottery winners go broke and 80% of professional athletes deplete their massive funds on retirement.

On a more normal human perspective: it’s why we are more likely to blow a bonus or the cash from a generous birthday card. In this case, mental accounting may undercut your financial progress by treating your stimulus or tax refund as more “spendable” than other income (like your regular paycheck).

We’re not doing that this time.

Tune in next week to learn the first of seven tips to manage the money from your financial windfall.
