Sports: where teamwork and art collide π
Good morning. We believe in the importance of teamwork.
And so does the International Swimming League (ISL). Founded in 2017 by Konstantin Grigorishin, the ISL's mission centers around exploring the full potential of competitive swimming, while also working to secure sustainable commercial growth in the sport of swimming.
In order to achieve their mission, the ISL purposely structured the competition to be centered on a team-based format. These team-based competitions have done more than provide athletes further opportunities for competition as professional swimmers; they have also brought swimmers together from across the globe.
By placing an emphasis on the importance of teamwork, the ISL has been able to uphold all that is beautiful about sports: camaraderie, sportsmanship, and competition. We believe that Ted Lasso would approve.
Other big news this week:
Mandy Marquardt has landed in Poland for training ahead of the 2021 UCI Track World Championships later this month.

DEMAND YOUR BRAND
Branding Mentorship
Not everyone is going to love you or your brand. It's important to find someone who does, and who agrees with your mission to mentor you. With that, they need to share the same vision and be able to portray it in both your actions and your brand assets. Of course, not every business mentor will be able to design your graphics or write your newsletter, but they should be able to pick up on some key elements and affirm what you are sharing.
Here are some tips to find a mentor:
Initiate conversations - this may be with an old professor, coach, family friend, or colleague. Whether it is the first conversation or a monthly call, reach out.
Be invested in and celebrate your community's wins in return for being open to sharing your own updates with your network.
Develop a genuine relationship with someone whom you trust and respect, not just someone who has your dream job or the exact brand message you are going for.
Brainstorm ways to give back to an individual or their organization - mentorship can be a two-way relationship.
ASK if you are unsure and want to organize more scheduled calls with a specific purpose.
