“Thank you” from CG Sports!

Good morning.

This newsletter is rooted in many things (sports, marketing, Sarah McLachlan references), but, most importantly, it is rooted in gratitude. Thank you to all who make this newsletter possible:

  • To our newsletter readers: Thank you for spending each Wednesday with us (and a couple of bonus days throughout the year as well). We love sharing updates from our clients/company with you, as well as our favorite insights from the sports and publishing industries.

  • To our clients: Thank you for sharing your stories with us and for trusting us to be part of your journey. You live at the core of our agency and bring excitement to every day.

  • To my CG Sports coworkers: Thank you for showing up every day passionate for work and ready for new challenges. Together, we are pushing each other (and our company) to be better and elevating our expectations and goals to new, exciting heights.

Enjoy the food, rest, and time with your loved ones this week, folks. Thank you for sharing your Wednesday with us!

— Taylor

Elizabeth Beisel

3x Olympian Elizabeth Beisel has joined Oceanic Global as a Team Ambassador. Elizabeth lives an active lifestyle, close to the ocean in her home state of Rhode Island and her love of the ocean is reflected in all that she does.

Her one tip for protecting our planet? Focus on what you can do on a small scale (thrift shopping, buying second-hand items, etc.). Individually these decisions might seem small, but as a collective they add up.

Education is power.

There’s this old quote that I love by the Irish poet W.B. Yeats: “Education is not the filling of a pot but the lighting of a fire.” When a lesson clicks, the learner becomes unstoppable.

That is the main goal behind our brand and NIL workshops that our team has been hosting with teams: to provide the tools and lessons so that people can be unstoppable as they seek to close sponsorship deals.

Recently, Cejih and Beth joined the San Jose State University women’s water polo team for a NIL workshop. The team spent time practicing sales pitches and participated in mock sales negotiations.

Watch our video recap of the day here!

The day ended with the team learning how to navigate email outreach and sending emails to some sponsor prospects.

The lesson? The lessons built into our workshops are skills that everyone can learn and we are excited to share what we know!

Raise your hand if you’re interested in learning more about building your brand!

We would love to work with you (individual or team) and help you build your brand so that you’re ready to navigate sales pitches, negotiations, email outreaches, and more!
