History is in the making 🏆
Good morning. A pair of No. 8 seeds could make history.
If you've been following either the NBA or the NHL this championship season, then you know there have been some upsets.
The Miami Heat and the Florida Panthers have advanced to the Finals of the NBA and NHL Championships respectively. While this is not the first time that two teams from the same state have advanced to separate sports Championships, a state has never won both championship titles in one year.
What is especially exciting is where each team started to make it to this point. The Miami Heat won a play-in round game to earn the No. 8 seed, while the Florida Panthers also skated in as the No. 8 seed.
The Heat will take on the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 this coming Thursday (6/1), while Game 1 for the Panthers and Golden Knights will take place on Saturday (6/3).
But the excitement doesn't stop there! The Nuggets have made the NBA final for the first time in franchise history, while the Golden Knights will be playing in the Stanley Cup final for only the second time.
Happy championship season, folks!

Making the most from a paid appearance
With live events returning we are seeing athletes, authors, and speakers getting approached with paid appearance opportunities.
Do you now where a major portion of future business comes from? It comes from people who have seen you speak, work, teach, or have interacted with you at an event.
Your success depends largely on how well you create opportunities while at a paid appearance. Here are a few of our favorite tips:
Before the Event
Text the client/host the night before to let them know that you have arrived and to confirm when/where you need to be.
Ask to review the introductory remarks they have for you. Often they have wrong information. You’ve spent a lot of time creating your brand and the way you are introduced is important. Make sure you manage it.
During the Event
There is no time that the audience will feel more connected and emotionally engaged than when they are hearing you speak. If they don't reach out at the emotional moment, then every minute after the speech decreases the odds that you will ever hear from them. So, you must find a way to collect their contact info.
What you can offer in exchange for audience contact info:
Video - you can offer to send them a summary or supplementary video
A follow up discussion guide
The slides or high points of your presentation
Additional practical tips to help them
A chapter from your booK

You'll gain inspiration from Champion Tara Mack's positive and adventurous mindset, as she tackles a new swimming challenge, her first-ever 200 Fly, with a lighthearted and determined approach, reminding us that sports should be enjoyed and approached with a "why not?" attitude. You are sure to get a kick out of the fact that Kelly caught Tara behind the blocks just moments before this big swim.
T-Mack (Tara's nickname) emphasizes the importance of sticking to her race plan, focusing on technique in the first hundred, staying strong in the last two 50s, and giving it her all in the final stretch. Her mindset of embracing the challenge and not being overwhelmed by the potential pain of the race is refreshing.
She encourages others attempting their first 200 butterfly to simply go for it, highlighting that it's just master swimming and meant to be enjoyed. The interview showcases her determined yet lighthearted approach to competition, leaving listeners with a valuable lesson in maintaining a positive attitude and having fun as opposed to being too worried about performance.
