Build your best newsletter
Good morning. This newsletter is about newsletters.
It should come as no surprise that we love a good newsletter. We have learned quite a bit about newsletters over the years and have been happy to see the success of our company's newsletter replicated in our client's newsletters.
Here are some of our top tips for a successful newsletter:
Set a frequency and stick to it. There's no right answer about how often you should send out a newsletter. The important thing is to create a schedule and stick to it. This will help create an expectation in the mind of your audience and they will look forward to your newsletter each time.
Share your accomplishments. People want to know about you - that's why they signed up for your newsletter. This is your opportunity to share about your accolades, clinics, volunteering, life transitions, and more!
Let your voice shine. There's nothing wrong with pulling inspiration from other newsletters, but it is important to make your newsletter authentically you. This includes the structure, color scheme, and other elements of your personal brand.
If you've been thinking about starting a newsletter, don't wait! A great first step is to collect some emails (including your mom's!) and make a plan. Still nervous about starting? Give us a shout! We'd love to hear from you!

How to make yourself sellable in today's market
We are seeing a few shifts in today’s sponsorship market. Sponsors are spending more on tangible assets that can be easily approved. Property sponsorships do really well because they are able to provide a full menu of sponsorship items for purchase: advertising space, “presenting sponsor” packages, “title sponsor” packages, “gold level” partner packages, etc.
Athletes who can digest their sellable assets into tangible packages are going to see more success with sponsors in 2023. Work with you agent to create your own standard sponsorship packages to be sold in the market.
A few ideas on what an athlete can provide may include:
Logo space on your kit, suit, uniform: These types of deals can go for pretty high since it’s prime advertising visibility and real estate.
Branding at appearances or camps: If you know you will be doing a number of public appearances or camps during the year, this can be sold for sponsorship. Your physical presence in these locations are an opportunity for a company to be the “presenting sponsor” of your work at these events.
Standard Social Media Package: Work with your agent on a standard social media package that provides a fair balance of posting in exchange for cash payment.
Local Sponsor Package: These are great for local partnerships with companies in your hometown or at your training base.
Spend some time thinking about what you can offer. Package it. Hand it off to your agent to get out to the market. While that’s happening, start posting on social to showcase work you’ve done for local companies. That will help more inbound leads come in. Good luck!
