Embrace your voice
Good morning. Every individual has a voice.
It is important to remember that in every moment (big or small) that your voice matters and that you can add to the conversation.
Following the Uvalde attack, Warriors coach, Steve Kerr, delivered a passionate plea for gun control. Jason Kidd (Mavericks coach), Erik Spoelstra (Heat coach), Stephen Curry (Warriors player), Arike Ogunbowale (Wings player), and Cheryl Reeves (Lynx coach) provided similar cries of outrage and heartache.
Throughout the weekend of June 3-5, the Warriors and the Celtics wore orange t-shirts proclaiming "End Gun Violence" ahead of the NBA Game 2 finals. The U.S. Men's National Soccer team wore orange armbands in their game against Uruguay. The Seattle Mariners wore orange for their batting practice against the Texas Rangers. And that is just a small sampling of the approximately 75 professional teams who pledged to support "Wear Orange Weekend."
LeBron James has used his social media account to demonstrate his support for WNBA player Brittney Griner, who has been detained by the Russian government for 100+ days, and to call on the U.S. government to bring Griner home.
If you believe in something, say it. Never be afraid to add your voice to the conversation and speak up for what you believe in.

Hot Takeaways from the Nike's City Connect Campaign with the MLB
If you haven't seen the latest installment of City Connect uniforms in Major League Baseball, you might want to head to ESPN's rankings and check out the swag, or lack thereof (decide for yourself here). In the multiple year campaign, focused on "celebrating the bond between baseball fans, home teams, and hometowns," Nike plans to uniquely honor each city and it's history. While some uniforms were a home run, others fell short, but not without making an impact from a branding standpoint.
Energizing long-term fans: Spurring interest in local, dedicated fans, there is no doubt an opinion will be shared given fan knowledge of their home team and its history. Nike will likely capitalize on the conversation, regardless of responses being positive or negative.
Utilizing the long MLB season: With one of the most intensive competition schedules in professional sports, there are plenty of games to showcase the uniforms, or leave fans eager to watch out for new releases.
Maintaining interest with a staggered release: When uniforms appear at random and on a limited number of teams each season, fans will research the campaign across the 3 seasons between 2021-23.
Head to toe revamps: By rebranding the entire uniform - from the caps down to the socks, Nike is showcasing their versatility and providing maximum chance to honor each city and its history.
In other words, this campaign goes all out. If one theme stands out, it's the consistency in generating conversation and coverage revolving the campaign and the brands involved. No wonder Nike ranks #1 for apparel brands in the world!
