This week, we are happy to announce that she is home and recovering. Our thanks goes out to everyone for their generous well wishes and donations to Sam's GoFundMe.

Let’s talk sponsorships. A big reason why I started Cejih Explains was to demystify the world of sponsorships and sports agents. Sponsorship is a topic that is not easy to find detailed information on how it all works. Below are three tips that any athlete (or agent) can use to begin filling the sponsorship funnel with deals.

Know your brand profile strengths.
Develop story on why you connect to that sponsor.
Now put that story out there.

DEMAND YOUR BRAND
Leveraging Your Network

Channeling your passions is talked about a lot as you build your personal brand in a material way. There’s a lot of storytelling you can do through merchandise, a website, a logo… and other assets our brand camp can get launched for you ;)

But, what if?

What if your passions go even further? Hoping to create a charity event, start a fun summer relay meet for high school swimmers (think 4x100 FL/BK relays...) or host a weekend seminar on goal setting? Your sponsors are invested in YOU as a person, not just your competition. Use that to your advantage. Most would LOVE to help you kickstart an event and contribute resources to help make it a success. (We would, too.) Your sponsors and partners should be relational and easy to open up a conversation with! They are in the business of making your experience with them as beneficial as possible, just like you are for them. It’s a win-win.

The first step might be to speak with your agent or internal sales team and see what is possible. From there, reach out to your sponsor, or ask your agent to help start the conversation. Perhaps you have a financial advisor (hey, Nav.it) that you might bring into the picture eventually as well. EIther way, come to the conversations prepared with an idea, a purpose, and how you think you can get it done when you do reach out to your sponsors. As always, reach out if you need anything!
