Our 2025 predictions

Good morning.

We are officially 15 days into 2025 and we are past due for some 2025 predictions. Let’s get into it.

Here are our top predictions for the year and our thoughts:

  • Excitement and sponsorships are going to build for Milano-Cortina 2026. Paris 2024 was an immense success and there is little doubt (in our minds) that momentum from Paris will carry into Milano-Cortina. 2025 will be a building year that will see sponsorships close for many Winter Olympic and Paralympic athletes as we head down the stretch to the 2026 Games.

  • Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) education space will be forced to expand. For how many NIL opportunities exist for athletes, the number of accessible and easily-digestible learning materials are limited. This is a great area for many facets of the NIL market to grow and support athletes.

  • Clients will build upon their hometown connections for sponsorship deals. We have seen this picking up steam in previous years and hope that this trend will continue trending up. This is a win-win for both athletes looking for sponsors and hometown companies seeking to grow their exposure.

Set Your Intentions

January is a great time to set intentions for the year. A few definitions before we get started: Goals are the desired outcomes we want to achieve, while intentions are themes that allow you to create alignment in your life.

Here are three reasons why we are setting intentions over goals in 2025:

  1. Goals are arbitrary. While we may use some data to create goals, ultimately, they are made up of figures. Sales goals, best times, nutritional goals, etc. are all set around numbers that we establish.

  2. Goals can impact mental health. When we are hitting our goals in stride, we feel good. Unstoppable. However, when we miss goals or fall behind on our goals, it can negatively impact our mental health.

  3. Intentions help us build habits. Setting an intention helps you to explore more about yourself and understand how you motivate yourself. You feel empowered and ready to take on new challenges.

Do you have to eliminate all goals from your life? No. But I hope you find some nuggets of inspiration and consider giving intention-setting a try.

Champions Mojo, Episode #268: “How to Train Alone or On a Ship: Alison Hayden’s Story Inspires Us”

In this compelling interview, Allison Hayden, a 53 year old multi-national champion swimmer with the St. Pete Masters, shares her journey and triumphs as a versatile athlete excelling in multiple disciplines. Known for her prowess in the 200 butterfly and middle-distance freestyle, Allison dives into her unique training regimen, discussing the mental challenges of training alone in the Maine winter and her approach to maintaining motivation.

Allison’s swimming story is as multifaceted as her strokes. From her college career at UNC Wilmington, where she studied marine biology and trained alongside future Olympic coach Todd DeSorbo, to her post-college transition as a professional triathlete and open-water swimmer, she has consistently pushed boundaries. A defining chapter of her journey includes swimming with a college club team at age 34 while coaching and training alongside younger athletes, proving age is no barrier to high performance. Her passion for open-water swimming shines, with her favorite event being the 10K, a challenge she embraces for its mental and physical demands.
