Building for tomorrow 💪

Good morning. Today's goals build tomorrow's dreams.

554 and 587. That is our countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. While that may seem like a distant event, 2023 is an important building year for 2024.

At CG Sports Co, we are stoked for all that 2023 has to offer. This year, we are focusing on:

  • Goal-setting. This may seem basic, but that's okay. When we hone in and refine what matters to us and what we want to accomplish, we can create tangible action plans. This not only creates supports for us internally, but also ensures that we are strengthening our client support systems.

  • Community. We are proud to support athletes and coaches from 10+ sports, multiple podcasts, and programs. We love sharing our clients' news (obviously) and connecting them with those who connect with and support their brand.

  • Embracing the grind. We're not saying work yourself to death. Quite the opposite actually! To us, embracing the grind means to give 100% to all that we do and to focus on making progress on our goals. This includes working to help our clients meet their individual goals.

This week, and throughout the year, we encourage you to identify your goals and to enjoy your journey towards your dreams.

-- Taylor and the CG Sports Co team

How we brand this: Our athletes

Bringing on a new client is always a big deal for our company and something we take a lot of pride in. Allow me to explain just how our brand camp service works and the process our athletes go through.

  1. Identifying an athlete's brand: Every athlete has a unique story that will make the athlete stand out in a specific market. The purpose of brand camp is to narrow the story and then find the correct market for the athlete.

  2. Bringing the brand to life: Each client goes through in depth sessions with our team to design their personalized logo, professional website, media kit, hype video and custom merchandise. The athlete gets to work with our whole team and we really get to provide that personal touch. We have A LOT of fun, probably too much.

  3. Launching the brand: Thousands of athletes may get paid to do their sport. Only a handful (about 2%) will build their professional brand. Unsurprisingly, 95% of sponsorship deals go to the athletes who can demonstrate they have an actual 'brand'. This is how an athlete who only has 5,000 Instagram followers can sign multiple sponsorship deals. Story + brand will always outweigh an Instagram following (this is math by Yung).

And that's it! Have a great rest of your week and thank you for reading our newsletter and supporting our athletes.

Fencing swords are basically light sabers, right?
At least it is in the hands of Alex Massialas!
