Who’s ready for commercials, er, the Super Bowl! 🏈

Good morning. A virtual holiday is upon us.

Since the 1960s, the Super Bowl has been captivating audiences with the best snacks, lucky jerseys, commercials, and, oh yeah, football.

These staples of Super Bowl Sunday, however, are still fairly modern creations. While the football game quickly built suspense and anticipation among leather-heads across the nation, the rise of the commercial did not occur until the early 1980s.

Unlike other major competitions whose viewership depends partially upon the teams competing, the ratings of the Super Bowl have been high throughout history regardless of the teams playing. This success is arguably due to the creation of a Super Bowl Sunday traditions. Each year, families, friends, bros, neighbors, and sometimes that-random-work-friend-who-is-also-into-sports, gather together to munch on snacks, cry over heart-warming pet commercials, pretend to watch the halftime performance, and hopefully catch some of the football game.

So, whether you are cheering for the Bengals or the Rams, may your buffalo wings be saucy and your spinach artichoke dip extra cheesy.

CEJIH EXPLAINS
Making The Most From A Paid Appearance

With live events returning we are seeing athletes, authors and speakers getting approached with paid appearance opportunities.

Do you now where a major portion of future business comes from? It comes from people who have seen you speak, work, teach or have interacted with you at an event.

Your success depends largely on how well you create opportunities while at a paid appearance.

Before the Event

  • Text the client/host the night before to let them know that you have arrived and to confirm when/where you need to be.

  • Ask to review the introductory remarks they have for you. Often they have wrong information. You’ve spent a lot of time creating your brand and the way you are introduced is important. Make sure you manage it.

During the Event

There is no time that the audience will feel more connected and emotionally engaged than when they are hearing you speak. If they don't reach out at the emotional moment, then every minute after the speech decreases the odds that you will ever hear from them. So, you must find a way to collect their contact info.

DEMAND YOUR BRAND
Brand Beyond the Field

One of the original CG Sports product, brand camp, is a signature part of developing an athlete's presence outside of their playing grounds while they are still competing.

This week, a few clients who went through brand camp came out with some incredible logos and used those to exemplify what it means to demand your brand.

  • Mick Dierdorff's personalized posters for his hometown cheering squad

  • Hagen Kearney's home gym, Telluride FUEL, officially selling his merchandise

They also happen to be competing in Beijing TONIGHT. Don't miss it!
