The Paralympics start TODAY! 🎉

Good morning, sports fans.

The Paralympics start today! With the success of the Olympic Games just two weeks ago, we are really excited to follow our clients as they prepare to compete in Paris this week for what will surely be the most watched Paralympic Games of all time. If you’re looking to follow along with some behind-the-scenes action, please check out our good friend @dromosagency, Ish Tanyeri!

CG Sports and Dromos have been partnering together for the past few months to help continue finding exciting opportunities for Paralympic athletes in the sports sponsorship world. Ish Tanyeri is on site in Paris and you can follow her Instagram here as she’ll be tracking progress of her amazing clients and a lot of the behind-the-scenes activity that it takes to run an agency and that agents do at a Paralympic Games. Good luck, Ish!

This weekend, I’ll be at the 8th annual Lead Summit - a weekend long summit dedicated to empowering and educating teenage girl athletes. We’ve been partners with Lead for 8 years and this continues to be one of the most impactful sports properties that we represent. It will feature Katie Grimes, as well as two-time Olympian Phoebe Bacon working with teenage girls swimmers in the Charlotte area. There are still spots available and swimmers can sign up here. (Parents and coaches, we have sessions for you, too!)

After Labor Day weekend, we’ll be full steam ahead as we look to close out September and finish with a record-setting Q3 both in sponsorships and in performances by our clients. We will keep you posted and look forward to sharing the results, as I know many of you out there are focused on closing your own deals.

We are also giving our Brand Camp product a makeover and the team of Andrew De Michaelis and Nicole Wurtele are working hard behind the scenes on significant upgrades to the product. Can’t wait to share more with you soon!

Until then, all eyes on Paris for the Paralympics. Go Team USA!

Love, Cejih

Katie Grimes

The Lead Sports Summit is gathering in Charlotte this weekend and they have rapidly been adding to their list of phenomenal speakers! The list of speakers now includes Olympians Katie Grimes & Phoebe Bacon!

Last week, Katie and Nic Fink also served some grub at Raising Canes. If you haven’t seen the video yet, you’re missing out on some killer fast food delivery lines.

Haylie McCleney

The 2024 Athletes Unlimited Softball Championships have concluded and Haylie McCleney has officially retired from the sport of softball.

Prior to her last game, Haylie and fellow teammate Sam Fischer sat down with Softball America to talk about their decisions to retire, how they got into the sport of softball, and more.

Congrats, Haylie, on a magnificent career!

Kieran Smith

Kieran Smith recently met young swimmers and parents from all over Fairfield County (Connecticut) at the Lounsbury House in Ridgefield for a meet and greet.

Kieran explained, “It is awesome, we did something like this when I got back from Tokyo. This was a really nice set up with the table, and I got to be up close and personal with the supporters of my town. It was really special."

Supporting Authors on Launch Day!

Today is a special day: it’s launch day for one of our publishing clients. And not only is she publishing a book, she’s also publishing a coordinating journal to go with it!

Christen Shefchunas, confidence coach to Olympians and World Class athletes, is back with amazing books. The first is Confident: 52 Reminders for Consistent Confidence in the Inconsistent World of Sports, highlighting reminders like, “Give yourself credit for the 99 things you’re doing right.”

The second is a coordinating journal, Confident: A Journal for Athletes, that takes each of the 52 lessons in Confident and encourages athletes to apply those reminders to their week, journaling their mental wins, good stuff that happened that day, and more.

On this launch day (and all others), please consider supporting our authors. There are many ways to show support:

  • Buy one (or more) copies of the book/journal.

  • Leave a review! If you’ve read an advanced copy or finish your book/journal and what to share your thoughts, we would love if you left a review on Amazon!

  • Interested in purchasing this book for your team? Contact our publisher, Mike Nicloy, for bulk orders.

We can’t wait to hear what you all think about Confident!

Ps. Did you know Christen has published a book with us before? Check it out!

Do you or someone you know have a great story to tell? Is writing and publishing a book a lifelong dream of yours (or your friend’s), but you’re just not sure where to start?

We would love to connect and talk about the publishing process.

Wheel Head: The Wheel Print of Dave Kiley is now available for pre-order! Told by Dave Kiley (pictured with his copy of the book) and written by Miles Thompson, Wheel Head tells the rousing story of Kiley and the dramatic arc of adaptive sports over six-decades. Full of novel, innovative characters and uncharted storylines, Wheel Head is a history lesson in exploration of disability and elite sport.

Champions Mojo Flashback Episode #201: “Use Emotion to Perform Your Best”

This episode, originally posted in April 2023, is about the impact of emotions on athletic performance and how using the most powerful positive emotions can make you perform your best!  Kelly and Maria agree that an athlete's (or any kind of performer's)  emotions before an event, can impact their results in a big way.

Positive emotions such as love, gratitude, and compassion produce oxytocin and norepinephrine, which make us feel good and powerful, while negative emotions such as fear, guilt, and shame produce cortisol and make us feel down and negative.

You'll also hear about the idea of using positive emotions to enhance performance, such as the idea of thinking of 10 positive emotions to evoke before a race to uplift you. And learn tips for getting rid of negative thoughts.

Catch up on EVERY episode at ChampionsMojo.com.
