Only one week until the Paralympics! 🎉

Good morning.

The Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris will take place next week on August 28th. Following the Opening Ceremony are 12 days of more than 1500 hours of coverage across NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and CNBC.

After the raving success of the show, “Gold Zone,” during the Paris Olympics, the show will make its Paralympic debut with Parlympic veteran Carolyn Manno as the host. The show will stream live from 11 am - 4 pm EST each day of competition on Peacock, highlighting the can’t-miss moments of the Paralympic Games.

CG Sports is proud to represent four Paralympic athletes at the upcoming Games: Para swimmers McKenzie Coan, Abbas Karimi, & Colleen Young and Para Triathlete Owen Cravens.

We’re excited to jump back into the action and excitedly share news with you via both our newsletter and our Instagram account (@cgsportsco)!

Email follow up like a sports agent

What’s up, everyone! This week, we are highlighting a classic from the Cejih Explains vault!

Are you seeking to level up your email follow up game? There are a few actionable items that you can do daily to keep improving your email game.

Here are several tips that will have you following up like the killer sports agent you are:

  1. Accept that no one will open your 1st email: The open rate on a 1st cold email is between 1-5%. You can safely assume that your first email will not be seen.

  2. Write emails 2 & 3 immediately: Pre-write emails 2 & 3 shortly after you send Email 1. Schedule reminders to send out each email within 3-5 days of each other.

  3. Send a final email, then re-engage in 60-90 days: If you receive no response after multiple hits (for me it’s 5 attempts), move them out of your queue. But set a reminder to re-engage them again in 60-90 days.

No big deal, just that 100th career game feeling! Congrats, Haylie!

Sponsor Spotlight: Block Cancer

The Block Cancer organization was born in 2021 after Olympian Elizabeth Beisel's father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Beisel completed a 20km route from Pt. Judith to Block Island, raising more than $160,000 for cancer research and clinical trials.

Since then, Block Cancer and the Swim Across America (SAA) community have raised additional funds (over $665,000) and helped support three different grants. The grants were awarded to Dr. Peter Yu, who is pancreatic cancer cell lines, and two team science awards, who are studying early pancreatic cancer detection.
