Embrace innovation 💪

Good morning. What would you do if you couldn't fail?

This isn't a new question (we've all heard it) and it can be intimidating for two reasons:

  1. It removes risk. Fear is a tough emotion to navigate and once it creeps in it can be paralyzing. But if risk is removed, fear subsides leaving room for creativity, fresh conversations, and new approaches to problem-solving.

  2. The sky is the limit. If we can't fail, then our thinking and doing becomes innovative. We find inspiration in plans A - Z and, most importantly, we enjoy the "problems" we encounter and transform our approaches to said "problem."

Whether you've been stuck in a training plateau, feeling sluggish from the summer heat, or just feeling to desire to switch things up, don't be afraid to take risks this week. Consider a new sales strategy. Schedule your day differently. Try a new workout routine. Your options are limitless

Be bold this week and enjoy your Wednesday.

Massialas x Panda Express: A Summer Event

World champion and 3x Olympian Alex Massialas constantly proves himself as one of the most talented fencers in the world, not only by earning himself admiration from others in the sport, but a few brand deals along the way as well. One such example of these sponsorships is his most recent signing with Panda Express. Now, as a brand or an athlete, what's one of the best collaboration methods to show your expertise in the sport and market your brand to a larger audience? Why not a tour!

In April, Massialas announced the launch of a fencing tour for young athletes in partnership with Panda Express, which would focus on leadership development and fencing skills. In a win-win-win situation, the brand here gets more exposure with the skilled Olympian's following, clinic-goers have a memorable experience learning directly from an Olympian, and the athlete benefits from the brand's partnership (and has a fantastic time). Sounds like a pretty sick deal to us!

When you think about it, in its simplest form the concept of sponsorship is when one individual, entity or brand supports another individual, entity or brand in exchange for some form of value that this relationship will provide. In short, there is reciprocal support between the two parties in the form of value.

When it comes down to it we all consume based on trust. Where do I decide to get information that I seek, where do I get my groceries, what team/s do I cheer for, what athlete/s do I enjoy following? There is a reason this trust develops. A lot of times this is based on your experiences and this experience reinforces your trust for a brand or entity. Maybe you were introduced to a sport, an athlete, a team by a family member you trust. Or you likely live in a city or community that you know and trust; this might result in you cheering for the team in that city or community.

It is completely possible that no one knows why you consume a brand. Chicago Cubs anybody? While the Cubs finally broke through with a World Series title in 2016, they endured over 100 years without an elusive World Series title. Why did Cubs fans put themselves through this? Because there is a familiarity, a trust in this association, even if this association (pre World Series win) was as the “Lovable Losers”.
