Enjoy the ride
Good morning. Do what makes you happy.
Fred Couples made history this past weekend when he became the oldest golfer to make the final cut of The Masters tournament.
Couples, 63, is no stranger to The Masters, making the cut 31/38 times in his four-decade long career. The only player to make the cut more times than Couples? Jack Nicklaus with 37 appearances. Additionally, Couples is tied with Tiger Woods and Gary Player for most consecutive cuts at 23.
Couples, notably, won The Masters in 1992 with a gravity-resistant tee shot at Hole 12.
The lesson? Find joy in your career and enjoy the ride. You won't believe the stories you are left with.

From the Archives: Building An Audience to Buy From You
Building an audience is the single best thing you can do for your career as an athlete, author, speaker or even business owner. It’s also one of the hardest. You have to be good at your craft as well as good behind the scenes in getting people to join your audience.
So, of course, you have to be resilient. But more importantly, you have to do the long, slow, painstaking work of establishing a brand, a community, and a marketing plan.
The skills involved in accomplishing this other task are very similar to the twin requirements for an author not only to write a great book but also to market that book to an increasingly overwhelmed, distracted, and shrinking reading public. You have to figure out what the key elements of your message are, decide who should hear them, and plan how to reach those people in ways that are sufficiently compelling.
We have found that the single most powerful form of communication to an audience is through: your email list.
In the case of the speaker or author, it’s absolutely essential to have a group of like-minded people who talk you up and put you forward as a great author or keynoter in one venue after another.

Block Cancer
The Block Cancer organization was born in 2021 after Olympian Elizabeth Beisel's father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Beisel completed a 20km route from Pt. Judith to Block Island, raising more than $160,000 for cancer research and clinical trials.
Since then, Block Cancer and the Swim Across America (SAA) community have raised additional funds and helped support three different grants. The grants were awarded to Dr. Peter Yu, who is pancreatic cancer cell lines, and two team science awards, who are studying early pancreatic cancer detection.
More exciting news will be coming from Block Cancer as the year progresses.
