Set Your Intentions

January is a great time to set intentions for the year. A few definitions before we get started: Goals are the desired outcomes we want to achieve, while intentions are themes that allow you to create alignment in your life.

Here are three reasons why we are setting intentions over goals in 2025:

  1. Goals are arbitrary. While we may use some data to create goals, ultimately, they are made up of figures. Sales goals, best times, nutritional goals, etc. are all set around numbers that we establish.

  2. Goals can impact mental health. When we are hitting our goals in stride, we feel good. Unstoppable. However, when we miss goals or fall behind on our goals, it can negatively impact our mental health.

  3. Intentions help us build habits. Setting an intention helps you to explore more about yourself and understand how you motivate yourself. You feel empowered and ready to take on new challenges.

Do you have to eliminate all goals from your life? No. But I hope you find some nuggets of inspiration and consider giving intention-setting a try.
