A cause worth swimming for πββοΈ
Good morning. Sarah Thomas has made history again.
This past weekend, Thomas became the first woman to complete the almost 50-mile swim across the entire length of Lake Mead, swimming from the Colorado River to the Hoover Dam (pending ratification) in 26 hours 45 minutes and 45 seconds. Thomas partnered with Swim Across America (SAA) for the swim, setting a goal of raising $10,000 for cancer research.
But Thomas's swim is more than a new record-breaking open water swim and more than the money she raised for SAA.
Thomas's swim is a testament to the mission of SAA: to make waves to fight cancer: As a breast cancer survivor and an accomplished open water swimmer, Thomas knows how to do both.
After her swim, Thomas explained to the media, "Cancer treatments tested me in a way I never thought possible. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation therapy, I never gave up on my dream of doing a swim that most people thought was impossible."
Thank you, Thomas, for showing us how to fight and live life to the fullest. Thank you, SAA, for the decades of support you have provided to families, patients, and survivors, as well as funding clinical trials.

In person events, speaking gigs, and appearances have made full and complete comebacks post-pandemic. If you find yourself with an opportunity to be giving an appearance, here is the best type of pos you can make to ensure future deals.
We call it the βclosing the loopβ post with our CG Sports athletes. The process is very simple.
Here it is:
Share a photo, video or short clip from your event. The SOONER you can make this post, the better it will do.
Tag the company, team or person(s) that invited you to speak or give the appearance. Give them a shoutout.
Share what you talked about with the audience. End with a big THANK YOU to your host. This will show future hosts that you are a great guest to bring in.
You can take a pic right before the event starts, or a video. You can do a follow up post or video from the stage. Or you can ask someone to take photos of you as you are speaking.

Swim Across America
On August 1, 1987, swimmers crossed the Long Island Sound in a team relay charity swim organized by Matt Vossler, who was inspired by Jeff Keith's Run Across America. Vossler wanted to bring people together to raise money for innovations in fighting cancer. His initial charity swim was a success, raising $5,000, and was attended by Olympians Craig Beardsley, Rowdy Gaines, Sippy Woodhead, and Steve Lundquist.
As the decades passed, Swim Across America (SAA) has shifted from a regional organization to a national organization, supporting swims across the United States. Since its founding in 1987, SAA has been hosting charity swims that fund cancer research and patient programs. To date, the organization has raised over $100 million dollars.
