CG Sports Co: Where sports and dad jokes collide
Good morning. I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out.
Dad jokes aside, if you haven't had a chance to watch hockey yet this season, I highly recommend it. Most teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) are approximately 12 -13 games into an 82 game season, leaving plenty of time to catch up with your favorite teams.
Recently, I had the opportunity to watch the Arizona Coyotes take on the Seattle Kraken and, wow, did this game have everything! Stunning shots, loud cheering, mild jeering, and all the thumps, thuds, and slaps that accompany an exciting hockey game. I'm telling you, folks, this game was certified fresh on the Tomatometer!
The Coyotes (1-10-1) clinched the win with 1:05 remaining, claiming their first win of the season. Coyotes fans rejoiced at the 5-4 victory, but, honestly, Kraken fans have just as much of a reason to celebrate. The Seattle Kraken (4-7-1) are in their first NHL season as a franchise and have made it known that they mean business with a dedicated fan base and a ready-to-work team.
With exciting match-ups happening early in the 2021-22 season, there is little doubt that great competitions are on our horizon!

DEMAND YOUR BRAND
Identifying Your Assets
Quick recap from last week: "Branding is the perpetual process of identifying, creating, and managing the cumulative assets and actions that shape the perception of a brand in stakeholders' minds." - Brandingmag
Let's identify your brand assets. These can be tangible or intangible. We've talked plenty about the former - logo, website, media kit (all of which we can help you create ), social posts, blog posts, brand name, usernames, brand titles...
Here are just some of the intangibles you may not have thought about:
Interview word choice, underlying message
Tone of voice in writing and in speech
Body language, overall demeanor at competitions or camps, in interviews, etc.
The hope is that the intangibles are natural and easy for you to portray simply based on who you are and your values, either as an individual or as a company. Next week, we'll discuss how to audit your brand elements and maximize your reach towards your target audience.

How to Keep Utility Bills Down by Maddelynn Horn
The average family in the US spends $2,000 each year on utilities.
Cutting utilities out of your budget isn’t exactly an option, but there are plenty of simple and effective ways to save money on your bills. Bonus: these hacks will also help you reduce your environmental impact.
Here is one way to save money on your electric bill:
Stop "leaking" electricity.
Even when electronics are turned off, if they are left plugged in they still use some energy. Unplugging devices that are not in use can save you 5 to 10 percent on your electricity bill. Unplugging your TV, speakers, or any other large device is a simple habit to form that can help you carve a chunk off your electricity bill.
Tune in next week to learn the fourth of six ways on how to keep the utility bills down!
