Cejih’s trip to NCAAs!
Good morning.
Hello from Federal Way, WA where the NCAA swimming and diving championships are being held!
Last week I had the chance to attend Women’s NCAA’s Swimming and Diving in person and watch some incredible performances. The energy in the natatorium was absolutely electric with each night of finals building upon the previous.
What made the meet even cooler was that CG Sports was well represented with FOUR amazing athletes competing:
Katie Grimes, Virginia
Camille Spink, Tennessee,
Phoebe Bacon, Wisconsin
McKenzie Siroky, Tennessee
Our athletes did absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to speak to several parents, coaches, industry reps, and even sponsors.
It was really nice having my friend and business colleague, Scott Kavanaugh of Travel & Leisure Co, make the trip to cheer on our client Katie Grimes! Travel and Leisure Co. has been such a great partner over the past year and a half and it was incredibly supportive to have Scott at the meet taking a genuine interest in Olympic sports.
Cejih Yung and Scott Kavanaugh of Travel and Leasure Co
The pressure is definitely on me now to meet Scott on the golf course soon.
The fan experience was definitely much improved. There’s still so much more room for revenue opportunities at this meet and creating a fun fan experience. For now I’ll give it a 6/10 on the CG Fun-o-meter.
The dream continues this week with Men’s NCAA’s kicking off tonight! We have two clients, Dare Rose (Cal) and Jordan Crooks (Tennessee), in the pool.
I appreciate everyone who followed along on our Instagram account this past weekend. Our engagement statistics were through the roof!
Thank you for supporting our athletes and our CG Sports team.
More still to come!
— Cejih

Next week, Kieran Smith will be joining Lakeshore Swim Club for a swim clinic. Lakeshore is excited to be working with Kieran and can't wait for their event! Kieran will be working with the team on stroke technique, answering questions, and talking about his swimming journey.
Jack Wallace
Last weekend, the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and the Devils Youth Foundation (DYF) teamed up to host a Sled Hockey Clinic! The clinic was a massive success with Paralympian Jack Wallace among the leaders coaching kids on what hockey is all about!
Take Chances: Marketing Edition
I’ve learned a lot about marketing over the years and one of the greatest lessons is: take chances. You don’t know the full impact that a marketing strategy will have unless you try it.
Last week, we tried something new and exciting ahead of our latest book launch: we released a newsletter with an excerpt from the book, Bittersweet Treasures: A Father’s Journey Through Loss & Healing — and the response was great!
Open rate on our newsletter campaign: 57.4%
Percentage of unique clicks on the pre-order link: 17%
Percentage of unique clicks on the link for the Christina Mauser foundation: 21%
All of the statistics above reflect how receptive our community is to not only a variety of marketing campaigns, but also the occasional change from their normal newsletter schedule (thank you!).
So, the next time you’re considering trying a new marketing strategy, be bold and give it a try!

Champions Mojo, Episode #274: “90-Year-Old Tech Whiz Who Tracks His Swims With Smart Goggles”
Cal Beattie defies expectations at every turn. At 90 years old, he's not just surviving—he's thriving as a competitive Masters swimmer who only started racing four years ago and trains alone in a small town in Virginia. He swims unattached with no team members and is amazingly disciplined. His journey from recreational swimmer to competitive athlete began after his wife passed away, when swimming became his solace and strength.
What makes Cal's story remarkable isn't just his age, but his approach to training and technology. Despite being born before World War II, Cal uses Form smart goggles to track his performance data with precision that would impress swimmers half his age. His methodical training regimen consists of swimming every other day, always timing his 400-yard freestyle and analyzing the results afterward on his smartphone. "I'm a one-act pony," he admits with characteristic humility, but this singular focus has yielded extraordinary results.
Cal Beattie shares his incredible journey as a 90-year-old Masters swimmer who only started competing four years ago after discovering he ranked fourth nationally in his age group while swimming recreationally after his wife's passing.
