Q2 recap and trends by Cejih

Hello CG Sports friends!

It's your favorite Olympic sports agent, Cejih ๐Ÿ‘‹

We are officially more than half way through the year! I feel like these next 168 days will go by super quick, with lots of events happening in the world of sports and sponsorship.

In Q2 we saw CG Sports clients strike up partnerships with companies in healthcare, private equity, and retail. Local speaking opportunities and paid appearances in an athlete's hometown market also spiked up nicely in May and June.

One area outside of sports where we are seeing sponsors invest in is music festivals. This is because festivals give brands the opportunity to leave a lasting experience with their customers.

Our friends at SponsorUnited shared the below data with CG Sports recently:

  • Brands are flocking to music festivals like moths to a flame.

  • In the last year, more than 7,000 brands have bought a sponsorship or media deal with these events, saturating the market as they vie to connect with attendees in the festivalsโ€™ prime consumer demographic.

  • Sponsors are embracing innovation in this quest, employing tactics like immersive experiential activations, head-turning installations, and interactive displays to create memorable experiences that make a lasting impression amidst festivalsโ€™ fierce competition.

Coming up these next few weeks we have the world championship competitions in swimming, para swimming, and fencing. These will be exciting competitions to follow our athletes at!

Quick Cejih tip: Making the investment in acquiring professional looking photos of yourself is 100% worth it. Beautiful photos taken on a professional camera can often be the single biggest differentiator in winning a deal or not.

As our friend Elizabeth Beisel would say, "put hay in the barn." Let's have a strong July!

Elizabeth Beisel recently sat down with Providence Business News (PBN) for their "Five Question With" series. Beisel's conversation with PBN centered on the newly founded "Emerge Youth Life Camps" that she founded with Brian Guadagno, RAW Elements USA founder.

In the interview, Beisel explained that the motivation to launch the camps stemmed from the desire "to expose kids to skills and activities [such as] water safety, situational awareness, confidence, breathwork, yoga and nature re-wilding."

USA Ski and Snowboard have announced the roster for Period 1 of the 2023-24 World Cup season.

The selection review group selected Rosie Brennan to represent the USA in several events, including the Trondheim, NOR 20 km Skiathlon.

Summer 2023 has been a busy one for Mandy Marquardt. Marquardt has competed in both the 2023 Pan American Track Championships, where she collected two medals and set two new National records, and the 2023 USA Cycling Track Championships.

Additionally, she has been named to USA Cycling's 2023 World Championship team.

Why sponsors love professional photography

Professional photographers can be valuable allies for athletes looking to secure sponsorships. Here are some ways athletes can leverage the expertise of professional photographers to enhance their sponsorship opportunities:

  1. High-Quality Visual Content: Professional photographers can capture stunning images that showcase an athlete's skills, personality, and achievements. These compelling visuals can be used across various marketing channels, including social media, websites, and promotional materials. High-quality images create a strong visual impact and attract the attention of potential sponsors.

  2. Personal Branding: A professional photographer can work closely with an athlete to create a consistent and compelling personal brand. They can capture images that align with the athlete's brand identity and values, effectively conveying their story, passion, and unique selling points. A well-defined personal brand can make athletes more attractive to sponsors seeking authentic partnerships.

Dermasport

Dermasport is a high-performance facial skincare system created by a former competitive triathlete, specifically formulated to protect, support and aid the recovery of chlorine and sun-damaged skin. As career swimmers, Nathan Adrian and Elizabeth Beisel understand the effects extensive exposure to the elements like chlorine, salt, sweat, sun and UV can have on our skin. Dermasport went through four years of rigorous testing prior to launch with swimmers of all levels and the results have been compelling!

On a personal level, Nathan and Elizabeth have both been touched by cancer and though not skin cancer, the topic of preventative and protective skincare is very important to them. The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Christopher Schmidt is a board-certified dermatologist and 50+ year swimmer so he knows a thing or two about the challenges swimmers face with the elements. He reformulated the product for optimal results based on the results of the studies and added a facial sunscreen to complete the four-step daily system.

Dermasport created a limited time BOGO sunscreen offer just for the CG Sports community! Add a Facial Sunscreen to your cart and you will receive another Facial Sunscreen for free. Stock up on your favorites now!
