Thank you, Betty 🙏

Good morning. Betty was the best of us.

It is no argument that the world lost an icon with the passing of Betty White. While an eight decade on-screen career is nothing to scoff at, it's important to also remember Betty's off-screen legacy. Throughout her life, White: became the first woman to produce a national tv show, co-founded her own production company (1952), and advocated for women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and HIV/AIDS research and awareness.

Betty White rarely crossed over from acting into the world of sports, but when she did, she made sure her appearances were memorable.

White did commercial crossovers with the likes of Shaquille O'Neal, Roger Goodell, Des Bryant and Johnny Manziel. Some of her sports-adjacent commercials, like her Super Bowl XLIV Snickers commercial, are absolutely iconic.

As White once said, "If you live without passion, you can go through life without leaving any footprints."

White's life and legacy stands as a reminder to all of us to be fearless in our pursuits, to not shy away from our beliefs, and to be bold in our actions.

Takeaways from Champion's Mojo Podcast: Creating an Environment for Champions

For those of you who may not know, there is this amazing podcast out there called “Champion’s Mojo.” It is hosted by two award winning hosts, Kelly Palace and Maria Parker. They are life coaches, world class competitive athletes, successful businesswomen and bestselling authors.

Have you ever listened to a podcast episode that was so good, you actually felt like you were in the room for the conversation? That’s the best way I can describe the Champion’s Mojo podcast.

On this particular episode, Kelly and Maria discuss “Creating an Environment for Champions." It’s 21 mins of incredibly actionable ideas that will help you take steps towards being a champion in your realm.

Here are my 2 main takeaways:

  1. Champions embrace and study failure.

  2. Unclutter your physical and emotional space.

This was a great episode to listen to and one that I recommend to any athlete, professional or lifelong learner.

Interview Etiquette - Part 1

What if I told you that a job interview should be enjoyable?

Quick reminder - when you've been invited in for a job interview, it is clear that you are qualified, so stop stressing about whether or not you will get the job. When you are more focused on getting to know your interviewer and the company as a whole, you are more likely to decide if you truly like the company and the overall vibe. Beyond this, you can also assess if you would enjoy the job and be a good fit for the company and the position you are applying for. The conversation and chance to meet in-person is typically an opportunity for the company representative to get to know your personal brand and assess if you are a match for the company beyond your career skills.

Ditch the desire to prove yourself, and claim to be a human being who deserves the job and simply wants to assess the situation that may be in your future!
