Introducing new LEADers! πŸŽ‰

Good morning. Be on the lookout for LEADers

Let's start with a story.

In 2016 we had two clients. One was Kara Lynn Joyce, who had a vision to help teenage girl athletes with skills in leadership, confidence and female empowerment. This vision was called the Lead Sports Summit, an annual event held on Labor Day weekend that is solely dedicated to empowering the next generation of female athlete leaders. To put it simply: Lead is one of the best things our agency has ever been involved in.

Lead underwent a grand expansion this week with the announcement of Lead Softball and the addition of USA Softball Olympic medalist, Haylie McCleney, to the Lead team!

If you've never heard of the Lead Summit, know this: it is one of the coolest, most empowering events a female athlete can attend. Attendees of the Lead Summit (softball AND swimming) will: connect with Olympic champions, pro-athletes, and experts in multiple fields; visit the gifting suite for swag from sponsors; and participate in a clinic led by seasoned veterans of their respective sport.

The Lead Softball Summit will officially take place on June 26-29, 2022 in San Diego, CA. The Lead Swimming Summit will take place on Sep 2-5, 2022 in Denver, CO.

The story continues and this really is just the beginning. But today it’s important to stop, recognize and express gratitude.

Congrats to these two trailblazing women for going out there and creating a new opportunity for thousands of female athletes.

Other big news this week:

  • Kieran Smith returned to his high school stomping grounds to discuss balancing academic and athletic achievements.

  • Coleman Stewart and fellow Cali Condors lowered the men's 400 medley relay American record to a 3:19.64.

DEMAND YOUR BRAND

New year doesn't have to mean new you. In fact, it's pretty unlikely you'll ever have a new you (Sorry). So let's try new year, improved you. If you're feeling weighed down by tasks, projects, to-do lists...Ask yourself a few questions:

  • Are you spending an overwhelming amount of time on a project with little pay off? Why?

  • What are three ways you can make changes by removing a task (3.g. nighttime social media scroll) this week to improve your productivity and focus on a piece of your routine that you love?

  • Do you have one habit you can add and follow up with a positive reinforcement to really make it stick?

If you're just getting started in developing your business or your brand, you may have to take on some projects that push you to your limits, aren't necessarily in your wheelhouse, and challenge you in unexpected ways. This is exactly how to build a portfolio and the toolkit to a successful business where you get to choose your services and products, and what you spend your time on. But remember - time is a resource. Spend it wisely when you can and learn from the experiences.
