Hi π meet CG Sports Publishing
Good morning. Taylor (not Swift) here.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about the impact of Taylor Swift remastering her legacy album-by-album. This belief, that an individual should control their legacy, is exactly why we founded CG Sports Publishing.
The mission that drives CG Sports Publishing is simple: authors retain 100% creative control of their books. Does this mean they are alone and agonizing over every comma, anecdote, and potential citation? Of course not. Our in-house team is there to support our authors from manuscript production to the official launch (and every step in-between).
Hard work, dedication, and trust have led to the publication of six books in the last six months! Most recently, a trio of memoirs have been released:
A Life Aloft by Thomas Gompf with Elaine K. Howley
The Grass is Always Greener by Brian Gushue
Soul of a Swimmer by Carla Albano
We've come a long way since publishing our first two athlete memoirs in 2020 and we have no intention of slowing down. We are beyond proud to help authors share their stories and we encourage you to be like Taylor (Swift) and control your legacy.
Other big news this week:
Alexander Massialas honored alongside Pac-12 Olympians at the Pac-12 Championship Game.
Get ready for the short course World Swimming Championships with a preview of the psych sheets!
P.S. Nervous about missing upcoming news from CG Sports? Follow us on Instagram (@cgsportsco), Facebook (CG Sports Management), and, of course, our weekly newsletter.

Do I need an agent yet? Here's how to know.
Have you found yourself wondering if you (an athlete) need an agent? Before you go emailing every agent that you can find, it is important to be realistic and determine where you are at in terms of needing an agent to help manage your business.
So, what benchmarks should you realistically shoot for? Here are just a sample of some we recommend you think about:
Brand strategy: Have you developed your brand strategy that clearly answers βhereβs who I am and what Iβm aboutβ, to the market? This will guide your social media, website design and the types of business opportunities you will engage in.
Social media: Do you post regularly at a cadence of 1 post (IG feed, not stories) every 1-3 days? This is pretty much the standard that paying sponsors are looking for when they invest in an athlete.
Website: Do you have a website setup? 99.9% of the worldβs businesses have websites - athletes are no different. Itβs important to make it easy for people to conduct business with you. Your website is how many future deals and business opportunities will come finding you.
