Both have made history in the past season - one by winning the 2021 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championship for the first time in the program's history and the other for becoming the fastest-selling US video game console in history.

CEJIH EXPLAINS
Athlete sponsorships and how to find them

Let’s talk sponsorships. A big reason why I started Cejih Explains was to demystify the world of sponsorships and sports agents. Sponsorship is a topic that is not easy to find detailed information on how it all works. Below are three tips that any athlete (or agent) can use to begin filling the sponsorship funnel with deals.

  1. Know your brand profile strengths: Sponsorship is like online dating - it’s all about matching profiles. The better you know your personal brand profile and your brand strengths, the better position you will be in to succeed. Narrowing down your profile will help you identify which companies you would be a good match with.

Basic Questions to Consider Before Investing by Maia Monell

Investing is all about goal-setting. Your goals will likely depend on where you’re at in your life right now as well. For example, if you’re in your 20s, your goals for a healthy retirement or FIRE will dictate the way you spend and invest right now. You’ll likely be a bit more ‘bullish’ or risky with your investments with the promise of greater returns coupled with the understanding that you will have more time to offset losses. Your goals will look different (as will your strategy) if you’re a bit closer to your retirement years.

Not sure how to map out those goals, ask yourself these questions to get you started:

 1. Money Considerations

  1. How much am I willing to invest now from my yearly income?

  2. How much do I project to make in my current role?

  3. Do I want to go out on my own at some point?

  4. Do I want to retire early or even at all?

Have I maxed out my 401K? You should do this. No matter what. Non-taxed money at any age is a great thing to rely on.

Tune in next week for our questions regarding mental and debt considerations.
