Celebrate good times π
Good morning. Always celebrate your team.
We talk to each other a lot at the CG Sports Company and one of my favorite channels is our #DailyBiz Slack channel. You might think that something titled "Daily Biz" would be all formal business and you would only be right about 1/3 of the time. The other 2/3 of our content is celebrating our athletes' accomplishments and our team's accomplishments.
You might wonder, "Taylor, why does this matter?" And I would tell you, "There is always something to celebrate!" Celebrate:
A new sponsorship deal being secured,
Completing a tough and taxing practice,
The 5th edit of a logo your team has been working on,
Sticking to your budget for an entire week,
A workout set connecting with your athlete,
Cleaning up your Google Calendar,
And SO MUCH MORE!
Your team is in your corner and a great team will be your biggest cheerleading squad for big and small projects.
Take time this Wednesday to highlight someone on your team and celebrate them. I guarantee you will make their day.
-- Taylor

Throwback: How to tell your story on social media
Social media can be a powerful platform to showcase different aspects of your lifestyle, sport, personal hobbies and fun events in your life. All of these things combine to give your audience a perception of you as a brand.
When athletes begin to narrow their focus of what they are posting/sharing with an audience, this is where we begin to see an actual brand form.
The Key: The key here is to decide what your main themes are and then start making posts related to those specific themes. Does this mean you can never make an off-brand post or just mix it up when you feel like it? Of course not.
Here are a few examples of athletes/people who have narrowed down their main brand themes and make a post around one of these themes every few days.
Victoria Garrick, Founder of The Hidden Opponent, former D1 volleyball player. Themes: Mental health, Body-Image, relationship with fiance, former life as an athlete and mindset change, vulnerability.
Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks Point Guard. Themes: Training, Bball lifestyle, Game photos.
Sara Blakely, CEO & Founder of SPANX. Themes: Sharing stories on how she founded SPANX by herself, Family/kids, BTS look at running the SPANX company, cups with inspirational quotes (female empowerment focused).

Champion's Mojo, Episode #221: "Find Love in the Pool: Austin Williamson"
Austin Williamson has found love as a fresh addition to the world of master swimming. Austin's story is anything but typical; at age 37, originally seeking to improve his swimming skills for competing in an Ironman event, he found himself diving headfirst into the world of competitive swimming. It was not just the thrill of the race that captivated him, but also the profound impact on his health, particularly his long-standing back problems. The techniques and strength developed through swimming have provided Austin with relief and a newfound love for the sport.
The conversation with Austin is not only inspiring, but it's also infectious. His passion for swimming, his dedication to mastering the techniques, and his joy at finding a sport that doubles as a remedy for health issues, is profoundly uplifting. What makes Austin's story even more compelling is his testament to the lifelong benefits of swimming, inspired by fellow masters swimmer Willard Lamb who continued to break records well into his 100s.
Austin swims for the iconic Masters Swim Coach Jim Miller as as member of Virginia Masters Swim Team and the River City workout group.
Listening to Austin, you too might feel the pull of the pool, a reminder that swimming isn't just a sport β itβs a journey of self-discovery, healing and high performance. And the friendships are the best!
