6 tips to close NIL deals as a student athlete

6 obnoxiously simple tips to close NIL deals as a student-athlete, from our friend Jason Bergman at MarketPryce. View full post here.

1/ Follow the brand on social + engage with their content.

Very often the person who handles a brand's social is helping (or owning) influencer relationships.

Stay top of mind with the right person.

You're already spending time on social anyway - make that time productive.

2/ Post publicly what you love about the brand and tag them.

Show off how their product improves your day to day and get specific with what you love about it.

Don’t be shy - the more you post about the brand, the more they’ll see it.

3/ Have data ready to share.

IG and TikTok provide INSANE data on who follows you - know it, understand it, and leverage it.

Also be ready to share other brand deals you've done - what content did you create and what results did you drive for them?

4/ Be clear with how you can help them.

Make this partnership a win-win for you and the brand.

What are THEY getting out of a deal with you?

Will you create good content for them to repost?

Do you think your followers would be interested in buying their product to drive sales?

5/ Check to see if the brand has worked with athletes before.

Check to see if they’ve been tagged in by posts from other athletes.

If they have, ask the brand what they liked/didn’t like about those collaborations?

And why not DM the athletes too to ask for an intro.

6/ Persistence wins.

Don’t post once and expect to get a deal.

Don’t send one DM or email and expect to get a response.

I recommend following up at least 5-7 times before throwing in the towel.
